JetBlue New Mint

I think this is the best domestic first class. And to be frank, I don’t think its close. Here’s why.

Pre-Boarding

This is the only downside of flying JetBlue Mint. You get priority check in and security and all that jazz, but JetBlue has not invested anything into any sort of lounge. Not sure as to exactly why but maybe the avoidance of that capital expenditure allowed JetBlue to keep their Mint fares below the other big airlines. So hopefully you can find a Priority Pass lounge or CENTURION lounge or something like that.

Seat

An absolute beauty. The new seats are laid out in a 1x1 configuration, which is a huge improvement meaning that everyone has a window AND direct aisle access. The storage set up is really smart, with every nook and cranny used perfectly (drawers, portable charging, coat hooks, etc.). There is a sliding door that adds to the privacy of the seat, and plenty of width and legroom to go along with it. My dad and I both agreed that this seat is a huge upgrade from the current JetBlue Mint.

Entertainment

This is where JetBlue also really excels. They’ve got the BEST wifi and live TV systems of any domestic carrier. Its super easy to figure out and there is an abundance of options to keep you entertained throughout the flight. Screen size and resolution are also both solid.

Food

Mint does things slightly differently in that you get to choose 3 out of 5 sort of appetizer sized plates, which I really like. And generally, the food hits on the mark. Plus, the drinks are fantastic (pineapple el pastor margarita slaps).

Service

I always enjoy JetBlue flight attendants. Its good vibes always. JetBlue also does something better than other airlines and that’s in what they include in their amenity kits. Night flights are all things to help you fall asleep - I’m talking melatonin infused face creams, some special cocoa mushroom powder, super comfy eye masks and more.

Conclusion

It’s simply the best way to fly domestic first class (or even across the pond), so if you can get a JetBlue Mint, absolutely do not hesitate. I still have not flown their new Mint product, which looks even better, so stay tuned for that review.
