La Siesta Diamond Hotel Hanoi
$70/night. Breakfast included. Ranked top 10 on TripAdvisor. Stay here. There are a few La Siesta hotels in Hanoi, and I seriously so highly recommend staying here.
Location: A-
Not quite smack in the middle, but a five minute walk from everything you need.
Rooms: B
Zero view, so that was my biggest issue. Other than that, plus that it was on the smaller side, the room had nice amenities and a comfortable enough bed.
Dining: A-
For included breakfast, I was impressed. I had a wild combination of pancakes, bacon and Pho for breakfast, along with tons of fruit. That was a first for me! Did not eat any other meals here, but the breakfast was fantastic, especially considering it was freeeee.
Amenities: C+
There’s a spa, a rooftop restaurant/bar, and a small library. Other than that, there’s rooms. Its a small boutique in the middle of Old Town, so there’s not much more you can expect. But, speaking of the spa, it really was fantastic. I had a 30 minute massage for $10 and thoroughly enjoyed it, even as someone who typically is not a big fan of massages. So I’d highly recommend that. Plus, the tea they give you before and after is worth $10 on its own if it was served in LA.
Service: A+++++
Literally, only the Oberoi Rajvillas in Jaipur can compete. And that place costed 4 digits a night. This place costs 2 digits a night. Big difference. But everyone knew my name, what I did that day (not creepily), and who I was. It was almost shocking. My check in and check out times were wack, but these guys working here bent over backwards to make it work. I’m talking slept on the floor behind the check-in counter in anticipation of my arrival. I’m talking setting me up in an extra room to take a shower before my 2 am flight. So, service here is absolutely next level, single handedly making this one of the most memorable stays of my life.
Scene
I barely stayed in the hotel at all, but from what I could tell, it was an even balance of couples and families for the most part, and the clientele was predominantly on the younger side. Not much business travel going on here, that’s for sure.
