Four Seasons Abu Dhabi: Presidential Style

Serena Williams went up the elevator with me on my way to the Presidential Suite we were given at a huge discount. So I’ll leave it up to you to surmise how world-class this hotel is. If you don’t have long to be in the city, Four Seasons is without a doubt your best bet. There’s also a ton of marble decor. I love marble. It’s gorgeous. Anyways, I digress. Check out what the Four Seasons Abu Dhabi has to offer.

One seriously impressive lobby in my opinion, with comfortable seating, nice cafe and of course, marble detailing everywhere.

Location: B

Situated on the Al Maryah Island, a new man made development (like basically everything else in this country), the Four Seasons is in a relatively good spot. It is directly connected to the Galleria shops and dining which is a definite bonus. The Louvre is only a five minute drive away as are some great beaches. As for the Sheik Zayed Mosque, the airport, Yas Island and Ferrari World, expect about a 30 minute drive, so plan accordingly.

Rooms: A (in our case)

The huge living room of the suite, which was way too dope.

Oddly enough, the bathroom of the standard connecting room was better than the master bathroom of the Presidential suite.

So we ended up with a Presidential Suite (if you want to know how then continue reading) and it was all of our first experience in one. My god was it beautiful. I mean seriously, this thing was a house, decorated immaculately with expansive, 270 degree views over the city (when connected with a standard room like ours was). The suite really can only sleep two people comfortable, maybe three, because it is just one bedroom, but the living room is absolutely massive and incredibly modern with a TV built within the mirror walls and electronic shades. Unfortunately, we really did not get to spend very much time in the suite but nevertheless the time we did spend in the room was impressive to say the least. The fact that it was unfortunate to spend that little amount of time in the room says a lot.

Dining room fit for a...well, fit for a President?

Amenities: B

The gym was somewhat on the smaller side but it provided us with what we needed for our early morning workout. The hotel has a nice pool that overlooks the skyline of the city and ample lounging areas to enjoy afternoon tea or night time shisha. We did not experience the spa, but I'm sure a Four Seasons hotel would have a great one. As this is a city hotel, don't expect to find much to do in the building itself, so get out and explore.

Although it is a city hotel, the Four Seasons has beautiful outdoor spaces coupled with great views that make for a picturesque setting.

Dining

We didn't eat at any of the restaurants here, but we did order room service on our last morning and it was probably the best room service breakfast I have ever had. Actually no, it definitely was. The eggs were somehow light and fluffy, and felt almost like you were eating nothing. The pancakes were clouds, and my Japanese breakfast of salmon, eggs, and miso soup tasted just like, if not better, the breakfast I had in the Ritz Carlton Kyoto. And everything else-the yogurt, fruits, drinks, it was all top of the line, as you'd expect from this brand. Plus, eating it in our own dining room of our Presidential Suite made it just that much better.

Service: A-

So here's what happened. We arrived at around 3:30 to check in, only to find out our rooms were not ready. My step-mom was feeling very sick and we simply could not wait that hour for our room to be ready, and we were rather irked by the fact that they weren't ready in the first place. After all, check in to the hotel is at 3. After some bargaining and working with multiple members of the staff at check in, my dad was able to get that Presidential Suite for about 1/10th of the original cost. The staff were very apologetic about the entire situation, and really did handle it very well, making a poor situation one of the best things that could have happened. That's what you get when you stay at a Four Seasons hotel. You get the best people serving the best people, and there's a certain level of mutual respect that creates an experience tailored to your every need-even if it is a Presidential Suite because we can't wait an hour (whoops?). Other than that, the service was superb, and everyone had a bright smile on their face seemingly at all times-while also showing their personality at times which is something I always appreciate.

The Four Seasons Abu Dhabi was an all too short but very much memorable experience. It's a beautiful property, with stunning grounds and views to go along with a colorful and strategic façade on top of the building. No matter where you are around the Four Seasons, you are surrounded by white marble, gold finishes, or in my very unique case, Serena Williams. So yeah, you'll thrive here.
