Ibiza
Ibiza puts the rest of the party cities in the world to shame. Vegas? Nothing. Mykonos? Different, and not nearly as lit. Miami? Sit down. I would say there's more to Ibiza than beaches and partying, but quite frankly, I didn't do very much else. Here's what I did do though.
Where to stay when your intention is to simply party all night and sleep all day: Playa d'En Bossa
This stretch of beach is located right between the airport and Ibiza town, making it the most convenient place on the island for partiers. With that said, you'll find families here as well-it's a large beach so people and crowds vary depending on where you go. Other areas have nightclubs and beach clubs, but nothing quite like by Bossa Beach.
Where to go out to see the big names (but before midnight): Ushuaia
Wow. That's how I can describe this open air club. One of the newer clubs (and hotels) on the island, this place is one of, if not the best club in the entire world. Two nights there and I saw Kygo, Dimitri Vegas, Benny Bennasi, ALOK, David Guetta and more. It's a gem of a club, especially if you're like me and make friends with people who own a suite with a terrace that doubles as a VIP table during the performances (yes, you read that correctly-some rooms at the hotel here literally open up into the club. It's wild). This is undoubtedly THE club to go to while you're here, as there is something going on every night of the week during Ibiza's party season (late May-late September).
Where to go when Ushuaia ends: Hi
Right across the street (maximum convenience, of course) is Hi nightclub. With multiple rooms, outdoor patios and a beautiful crowd-plus not to mention more big name DJ's, Hi owns Ibiza's post-midnight nightclub scene. Other clubs such as Pacha and Amnesia are great, but did not have quite the same reputation and popularity (at least with the DJ's we wanted to see). We hung out at Hi from 1 until 6:30 in the morning, as you should in Ibiza, and loved basically every minute of it-especially when Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike performed.
What to do when you want to experience some culture: Ibiza Old Town
Okay so maybe I did do something that was not party-related. We went to the Old Town of Ibiza and roamed around the narrow streets, flanked on either side by colorful traditional buildings which remind you that you are, in fact, in Europe and not some magical party land. There's not much to see specifically here, but make your way up to the top of the castle for great views over this side of the island and roam around Old Town for an "authentic" feel of what Ibiza used to be like.
