Vienna

We hopped on a train and three hours later, we were in Vienna, one of the world’s most stunning cities. Unfortunately, we only had basically one day to explore, but here’s what we did.

Ate a schnitzel with a beer in the most beautiful restaurant

Cafe Central is an icon in the city. It truly is one of the most stunning interiors of any restaurant you’ve ever been to. Expect a wait, but it is totally worth it.

Had breakfast overlooking a Palace

Cafe Gloriette isn’t your typical cafe. First of all, getting seated is weird. Half the place is an expensive brunch situation over the weekend, the other half is a kind of seat yourself situation. Our waiter wasn’t necessarily the friendliest, and we didn’t get a good table but guess what? We switched tables, got a new waiter, and had a fantastic breakfast with a view literally fit for royalty.

Skip the Schonbrunn Palace

Look, if you’ve been to Versailles, or any royal palace, Schonbrunn is another (beautiful) example of royal residency. Don’t get me wrong, its absolutely stunning, but we decided to spend our time roaming the grounds for free and without lines.

See Royal stuff at the Hofburg Palace

If you’re into crowns and jewels and that shit, this is seriously the most ideal place for you.

Watch the horses at the Spanish Riding School

This is the epitome of fancy horseback riding. We happened to stumble upon some horseback riding while we were walking by, and it was quite beautiful to see these majestic creatures and their world-class jockeys.

Go to Kunsthistorisches for the art, stay for the cafe

Sure, the Tower of Babel is a fantastic work of art. But the cafe at this museum? Wow. It’s truly breathtaking. Photos are necessary here.

Drink at the Volksgarten Club

This bar in a park is a great place to go out at night. Except, we saw the line and decided the bed would be better for our tired selves. Grandparents, we are. Yoda too, apparently.

Hang out at Tel Aviv Beach

If you visit during summer, this is a great place to stop by for some drinks. I haven’t been to Tel Aviv, but it did slightly feel like I was on the beach in Barcelona, complete with sand, palm trees and mojito in hand.

Catch an opera show

We didn’t have time, but if you do, you kind of half to in Vienna. The building itself was stunning from the exterior, so I can only imagine how grand the whole experience would be.
