Pattaya

“Don’t go to Pattaya!” “It’s gross” “Pattaya is sleazy” This is all true. It is what it is. Pattaya is the Vegas of Thailand. You go here to just party and do some fucked up shit. So take that for what it’s worth. With that said, this is arriving and thriving, so there is still some regular stuff to do out here as well.

Where to stay: Siam@Siam

This is a fun design hotel with a solid location. There are multiple hotels, funky designs, and a good, young vibe. It’s also one of the tallest buildings in Pattaya so you get great views all around. Definitely recommend it.

Where to have dinner in a bird’s nest: Three Mermaids

Come here for great Thai food (albeit slightly on the pricier side) and amazing views. But the main reason one would come to Three Mermaids is for the Instagram of course. And honestly, the views, design of the restaurant with all the bird’s nests and overhanging netting, beach views, live music, etc. etc., make it a super aesthetic setting.

Where to see a crazy intricate wooden temple: Sanctuary of Truth

You have to pay and go on a tour to see this building because its technically still under construction, but please do so. It is a work of absolute art, and its significantly larger than I had anticipated. I’d rank it as the second most beautiful building in Thailand, behind the White Temple. Allocate a solid two hours though to see it all with the tour (the guides are hilarious too so you’ll have a good time). Also, book online to save money.

Where to ride through the Thai countryside: ATV Pattaya

This is a super fun activity for a couple hours near Pattaya. Just do the fun course and you’ll be more than entertained for the few hours (as long as you don’t get stuck on multiple different occasions like one member of our group did).

Where to party with a horny yeti: V2O Ice Cube

Pattaya Walking Street is infamous, and for a reason. Its just debauchery everywhere you look. Personal favorite? Taking shots with a men in a yeti outfit, complete with a solid 14-inch swinging dick. You are provided with options of ski-clothes to wear before entering this freezing cold bar. It’s a fun time.

Where to have dinner and lunch on the beach: Cave Beach Club

Feet in the sand, waves crashing and delicious Thai food being served. What else can you ask for? The design is great at this beach club, as is the music. All in all, this is the best beach club in Pattaya.

Also, if you can, rent a catamaran for the day from Pattaya. They take you out to this island with incredible blue water, and they’ve got a BBQ on board, slides, snorkel gear/dingy boats, etc.
