Ubud Village Resort

Bali and Ubud in general have an absurd amount of villas, AirBnB’s and hotels that you can get for super cheap. But when I saw this villa in a hotel just net to the Monkey Forest and close to all of the main area of Ubud, and for around $100 a night, I figured it would be our best bet. And it really was. Here’s why.

Location: A

On beautiful rice fields and feeling completely secluded yet easy walking distance to the bars and restaurants of Ubud, plus connected to the Monkey Forest. What more could you ask for??

Room: A

Our villa was really just fantastic. A nice sized pool, complete with a daybed and lounge chairs, an outdoor bathroom and wet bar area, incredible 4-poster bed, expansive bathroom with 2 tubs and an outdoor shower, and plenty of storage and space. Just wonderful.

Dining: B

Nothing spectacular, had a few meals in the property and it all did the job. The floating breakfast is cool and like yeah, its probably worth it for the novelty and the content, but more of a gimmick honestly.

Amenities: A-

There’s a great curved infinity edge pool with a swim up bar (love) which we spent a good amount of time in, and the spa was great. Did not use the gym, but glanced inside and it was sufficient enough I’d say. Only reason we’re giving it an A- here is because some of the public areas of the hotel felt somewhat neglected and needed a manicure. But nothing too bad at all.

Service: A-

Super kind staff who were like constantly just giving discounts here and there, which we definitely took advantage of. Somewhat of an amateur vibe, like the staff were all first timers working in a hotel, but all in all, they were wonderful.

Scene

The hotel was like almost empty when we were there. Everyone who stayed was a younger couple though, as was expected. Generally good vibes at the hotel.
