Hotel Aria Prague
So this was my first trip organized on my own in a while, and I made sure to take advantage of it. That meant contacting the best hotel in the city and being lucky enough to score a deal at the Aria Hotel Prague. It checks everything off the list and then some (UNESCO Gardens anyone?). Check out why this is the ideal place to stay on your visit to Prague.
Location: B+
Not necessarily smack in the middle of everything, but no more than a 15 minute walk from everywhere. The street is a quieter, more low key street, but it is a mere block from one of the main streets of this area of Prague. Initially, its location was one of the things slightly deterring me from choosing the Aria, but it ended up being almost perfect.
Rooms: B+
We were generously upgraded to a Junior Suite, which had two queen beds to go along with a small seating area and a great bathroom. The room provides everything you would expect in a high-end hotel, as well as an Apple TV, which was a fantastic addition (something all hotels should have). Shower was great, bathrobes great, toilet great, so no complaints about the bathroom at all. Only issues I had with the room was that there was absolutely no view and NO accessible outlet ports, which I personally found to be absurd.
And as a last point, the hotel provides phones to use while you stay there, and it is immensely helpful, especially when you do not have an international phone plan.
Dining: A-
We only ate breakfast at the hotel, which was fantastic. The buffet options were average, but the menu provided the eggs benedict I needed. Forewarning though-the hot sauce the hotel has is ridiculously spicy, and I consider myself pretty good at handling spice. Ask for some basic Tobasco if you need to spice up your food all the time like me. The rooftop restaurant looked pretty badass, with a fantastic menu and great views. Just be ready to drop some dough at the place.
Amenities: A+
Look, it’s a city hotel. Your amenity is the city. But the hotel still offers a great library, small gym, and above all else, fantastic gardens in the back. The gardens are so fantastic that they actually are a UNESCO World Heritage site. Access is free for hotel guests, and it’s a nice place to relax and take nice photos.
Service: A
Everyone was very helpful and kind at the hotel, especially the concierge and lady at check in. Only slight issue was that no one was there to greet us and take our luggage when the car dropped us off at the hotel. But we have hands so we lived.
Scene: Slightly older, but mostly empty when we stayed (mid-October). High-end for sure, but not necessarily pretentious which I appreciated.
