Hard Rock Hotel Ibiza
If you are to ever stay at a Hard Rock Hotel, this is the place. Ibiza fits Hard Rock like a glove, and vice versa, and here's why.
Location: A
A 10 minute drive from the airport and Old Town, respectively, around the corner from some of the best clubs and down the street from awesome bars and restaurants, this location is almost unbeatable. The Hard Rock has a great stretch of private sand as well. No complaints at all.
Room: A-
Only note on the rooms would be the lack of privacy of the bathrooms thanks to the somewhat odd layout, but other than that, the beds are supremely comfortable, shower head has some great water pressure, views are spectacular and the little quirks and notes are amusing.
Dining: A
We only ate at the breakfast buffet and it was one of the better daily breakfast buffets I've ever had. Essentially, this hotel is Vegas in Europe, which when it comes to daily breakfast buffets is rare in terms of what is available. And literally everything is available at this buffet-and it all tastes fantastic as well.
Amenities: A
We used the spa for an afternoon, to recover and prepare, and thoroughly enjoyed it. There's a sauna, steam room, cold jacuzzi, warm jacuzzi, rocks bed (or whatever the hell you call it) and beautiful pool area in a stunning courtyard, complete with water-jet loungers partially submerged in the water. Other than the spa, there's a large gym, beach club, two large pool areas, and, if you're there at the right time, large parties on site.
Service: B+
Generally, service was good, but there were a few moments that could have been improved. The beach club is waited on by no more than 5 people (for around a hundred hungover, hot guests) which caused some problems. Small moments here and there where the service could have been improved, namely in restaurants and bars, but nothing major at all. Kind of expected actually given the clientele of the hotel and the way it is set up.
Crowd: It's Ibiza man. What do you expect? Imagine if Vegas was European. That's it. There are your families sprinkled in here and there, couples (or newly met fu*k buddies), and the groups of partiers. It's fun, but it's definitely wild. We had a group of 5 rowdy English kids in the spa with us, and while I didn’t care that much, I could tell the couple who was also with us were on their last nerves by the time we left-something not necessarily ideal for a spa. But again, its Ibiza. You come here to party, so expect a party, especially at the Hard Rock.
