Mandarin Oriental Barcelona
Brilliant location, superb service and a damn good latte. Here's what I thought of one of the best hotels in the city (short and simple)
Location: A
It's right where you want to be, trust me. Near basically every subway line, one the best street in the city (Passeig de Gracia), walking distance to Sagrada, Casa Mila, Gothic quarter, etc. Also, El Nacional is right next door, and is one of my favorite places in Barcelona to have dinner or a drink.
Rooms: A
What do you expect? It’s a Mandarin Oriental after all. Beds are next level comfortable, and the smallest rooms are incredibly spacious.
Service: A
Again, it’s a Mandarin Oriental. They give you everything and more. Whatever you could want, they have it here.
Food: A-
Latte? Best I've ever had. Breakfast is solid, albeit portions a little too small for my liking.
Amenities: B
The rooftop area was unfortunately closed when we stayed here, but its one of the best Barcelona has to offer, complete with a stunning infinity edge pool. Additionally, the lobby is quite small and bland, so there's not much room to lounge about. There is a nice gym and spa, which includes a lap pool and everything you would expect in a top-notch luxury spa. I did not get to use but it looked divine.
Scene: A good mix of age, and not too snobby, which is always appreciated.
