London II
Every time I come to London, I like it that much more. And this time, I threw in a visit to Stonehenge. Here’s what do drink, eat and do in Londontown.
Be a basic bitch at Sketch
Yeah yeah yeah, you’ve seen it before. The pink room and funky bathroom pods. But be sure to ask and see if you can explore more because Sketch is huge. We got a fire scallop appetizer thing, which I highly recommend, along with some burrata and a strawberry martini dessert to match the decor.
Go for an early morning run through St. James Park
Coming before the crowds arrive for a jog is a great idea. This is the best park in the city, in my opinion, given its proximity to many of London’s attractions, as well as the views it offers. Plus, the plethora of birds here are entertaining.
Stonehenge
Make it a half-day tour. That’s all you need. Unless you want to add Bath to your tour, but we wanted the extra time in the city. https://www.viator.com/tours/London/London-to-Stonehenge-Independent-Afternoon-Trip/d737-3858EE009
Stroll around Covent Garden
For some reason, I hadn’t been to this part of London yet. It probably is the most vibrant in a city full of vibrant neighborhoods, but I was truly shocked here. Train stations transformed into boutique malls, street performances that rival those in Vegas, and a seriously awesome Apple store. Stop by at Blame Gloria for a drink in an awesome environment.
Pregame Indian food with Spanish tapas
British food sucks. But the international cuisine in London is unparalleled. We had a dinner reservation at an Indian restaurant that we ended up getting to early, so what’d we do? We had some tapas and wine, of course. Condesa is a cute little, hole-in-the-wall type place that didn’t have a line, had a very lively and entertaining host, and lots of wine, so it was the perfect place to fill the 30-minute time slot available. Ceviche? Awesome.
Then, make your way to Cinnamon Bazaar. This colorful restaurant serves some of the best Indian food in a cute setting, with prices that won’t break the bank and flavors that will have your tastebuds jumping all over the place with joy. Get a meat platter and different naans and have a good time.
Where to have afternoon tea while seeing the city
Bateaux London is a new option amongst the thousands London has to offer for afternoon tea. The difference with Bateaux? Your afternoon tea will be served while you float down the Thames. It’s a brilliant way to kill two birds with one stone. The tea, food, and service, while maybe not quite up to par with the Corinthia, for example, are still great.
London is awesome, and there are so so many options for things to see and do in the city. I have another blog post about it, so check it out for more tips!
