Phuket: Kolour Style

A music festival?! Rejoice! A COVID breakout from said music festival days later? Shit. Anyway, here’s what we did.

So our group of 6 stayed at a wonderful villa called Japonica: https://abnb.me/M1vy2Jpq6gb , which was ideally situated between Kamala Beach and Patong Beach, the mainstays of our trip to Phuket this time. It was a great villa for the price, albeit quite oddly laid out. There’s no hallway between the three rooms, so if you stay at the far room, you’ll have to walk through a couple rooms to get there. But, you’ve got a magical infinity edge pool overlooking Kamala Bay, all the basic amenities, and not to mention, about $50 for two nights per person. I love Thailand man.

The music festival was held at Cafe Del Mar during the day, then shifted to Illuzion and the back club of Illuzion, Shelter, at night. It was a wild time with amazing house music, incredible colors and beautiful people left and right. In the moment, I was having a blast. The party did come back to bite us all in the ass a little bit because of an outbreak of COVID at the event, but thankfully me and all my friends got out without it.

With that said, Cafe Del Mar is a superb beach club on Phuket that I highly recommend. It’s got it all. Beautiful decor, a pool, hookah, all kinds of super tasty food, stunning people and great drinks. This is an Ibiza institution after all, so you know that they know what the hell they’re doing. You really can not go wrong here, so make sure you check this place out if you’re looking for a beach club on the island. We liked it so much that we ended up spending the whole last day there after the festival was already over because the vibes were just so immaculate.

We also stumbled upon a place called Patcharin Seafood, which ended up being a wonderful little spot to have lunch on our trip. Located right on Surin Beach, you can find a little bit of everything on this menu, all of which tasted surprisingly good! Its a more local vibe here, very much so different from Cafe Del Mar, which I think we liked honestly. The change in pace was very welcome indeed. The staff were super friendly, but I believe could only speak Thai. Thankfully, I was with a Thai buddy, so no problem for me there, just something to note.

Anyway, that’s really all for this one. Again, another Phuket trip that was spent basically just drinking. It has gotten a bit ridiculous. Phuket has become the Thai equivalent to Vegas for me. Next time I go, I promise it will be for some nice nature and culture and whatnot. But who knows, we’ll just have to wait and see.
